Catfish lane
Catfish lane (lat. Corydoras arcuatus) is one of the most common types of aquarium fish. Has a calm disposition and a very good capacity for acclimatization. In natural conditions it lives in fresh waters of South America, particularly in Brazil, Peru and Ecuador. The two-lane catfish occurs in the upper Amazon and its tributaries. The water is clean with temperatures ranging from +22 to +26 C. it Prefers shallow areas with sandy or fine gravel bottom. Was opened in 1939 and at first it was called the armoured catfish due to the fact that on his body there are two rows of large scales –modified bone plates. They protect it from predators.
Most of the catfish spends time in search of food . which collects in the lower layers of the reservoir at the bottom. Fish touches the bottom of his elongated snout with sensitive whiskers. Catfish them touches the ground, catching invertebrates living there. Continue reading
Planaria in aquarium
Often together with live and ice cream feed, snails and plants in the aquarium water are worms that have a pink and white color and the triangular front part. They are called planaria and can be dangerous to the health of the shrimp. Often these worms belong to the species Dugesia gonocephala or other varieties of flat worms that live in fresh and marine waters worldwide. Most often they are found in the soil column, but often planarians can be seen on the surface of the water, moving with the help of special cilia on the body. Because of this, they are also often referred to as the ciliary worms.
Planaria is a typical hermaphroditic, so after internal fertilization without the participation of other individuals on light appears fully viable offspring. The planaria eggs are resistant to high and low temperatures, so get rid of them is quite difficult. These worms there is no one specific organ of respiration, the aeration process occurs with just the skin. Continue reading

Paleontologists Philip Carey (Philip Currie) from the canadian University of Alberta (University of Alberta ), and Rodolfo Coria (Rodolfo Coria) from the Argentinean paleontological Museum Carmen Funes discovered the largest carnivorous dinosaur.
Fossils of a carnivorous animal, considerably larger than the well-known Tyrannosaurus Rex were found in Argentina.
Dinosaur Mapusaurus roseae weighed 6 tons and was averaging 12-13 meters in length. He lived 100 million years ago and preyed on large dinosaurs. The name Mapusaurus is derived from the word “Earth” in the language of the tribe Mapuche living near Nakhodka, in Western Patagonia.
“This lizard was large enough and strong enough to attack the 100-ton, 40-metre long herbivorous argentinosaurus ( Argentinosaurus ), who lived near him here, during the Cretaceous period,” explained Carrie. Continue reading
